Family
My parents, Leonard Jr. and Margie (Mathiowetz) Seidl raised me and my 4 younger siblings in Sleepy Eye, MN. My siblings are Barbara & Dennis Schreier, Tricia & Jason Tauer, Andrew & Andrea (Meyer) Seidl, and Steven & Nola (Helget) Seidl. Growing up, I enjoyed playing hockey on the outdoor rink in Sleepy Eye and playing baseball at the Stark ball field. I graduated high school from Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s in 1988. I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Law Enforcement with a minor in Corrections from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 1991.
I married my beautiful wife, Joleen (Rosenstengel) in downtown Leavenworth in 1994. We have four children, Joshua (high school senior), Megan (high school junior), Kyle (8th grader), and Matthew (7th grader), whom attend school at New Ulm Cathedral. We make our home in New Ulm. Joleen currently works for Minnesota Valley Testing Lab. My children are actively involved in the community with various sports and church activities.
Community
Being active in the community is a passion of mine. I have coached youth sports for over 24 years, including New Ulm High School girl’s hockey, Sigel baseball, New Ulm Jr. Baseball and Lafayette T-ball. Along with coaching, I have been involved with different associations including New Ulm Junior Baseball, New Ulm Youth Football, and the New Ulm Hockey Board. I served as a board member for Healthy Community-Healthy Youth and Pro-Kinship. I am also a current blood donor. My family are active members of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm, MN.
